Established in 1983, The Hill is the local magazine for Notting Hill and Kensington. With an insider’s perspective on some of London’s most exciting and fashionable postcodes and their shops, restaurants and businesses, the magazine is an invaluable guide to the area for newcomers as well as established residents. Full of features, reviews, diary dates and profiles of local people, with informative articles and beautiful photography, the title has become a local institution over the past two decades. Its readers are stylish, wealthy and very international, obsessed with eating out and decorating their homes.
Over the years, the magazine has interviewed countless designers, actors, chefs, writers and other famous faces that call these parts of west London their home. Such diverse luminary locals as Tony Benn, Celia Birtwell, Tom Conran, Geordie Greig, Georgio Locatelli, Rik Mayall and Ruby Wax have all appeared in the pages of The Hill. With a locally born and based editor and an office on patch, The Hill is very much part of the local landscape.
My role included the sale of display advertising. Achieving monthly revenue targets. Assisted editorial with features for the magazine, promoting local events and interviewing local business owners. Building and maintaining corporate accounts through means of developing relationships with local businesses via telephone and face-to-face meetings. Managed all new business and existing client accounts. Sourced new business opportunities and maintained high visibility with the local area by managing private functions and entertaining clients out of usual business hours.
